Asif Iqbal is the founder and executive director of the Pakistan Research Institute of Eastern Medicine (PRIEM), the leading independent, organization dedicated to disseminating accurate, Reliable, and responsible EDUCATION, information and Research on herbs and medicinal plants.
For 25 years he is Chairman Dept. of Medicine and Allied Sciences and Ex. Dean of Faculty of Eastern Medicine Hamdard University and Member National Council for Tibb Islamabad He is the editor/publisher of JOURNAL OF EASTERN MEDICINE, For 28 years he has been teaching the course “Herbs and Phytomedicines in Today’s Medicine.” Asif Iqbal is the senior editor of the Pakistan National Pharmacopeia and chairman of National Pharmacopeia committee of The MINISTRY OF NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICES REGULATIONS AND COORDINATION.

Therapeutic Guide to Differential Diagnosis and Herbal Medicines (2013),1 Principles of Unani Medicine (2018),2 The ABC Clinical Guide to Herbs(2003),3 and coauthor of Rational Phytotherapy (2004).4 He has appeared on more than 400 vedios shows and has written more than 50 books and articles, reviews, and book chapters for many major publications. In 2009 he was awarded the Prof. Dr. Server Jahan Zubairy Gold Medal by Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology In 215 he was awarded the Gold Medal by Govt. of Sindh Pakistan on his research on Hepatitis C In 2012 he was awarded the Gold Medal by Shifa-ul-Mulk Academy on his Ph.D.
